Momodou Sawaneh
His Story
Momodou Sawaneh is a Gambian, born in 1971 and spent his childhood in Baddibu Suwareh. He went to Armitage High School in 1984 and graduated in 1989. He has lived in the United States, specifically in the Bronx, New York, with his family since 1992. He is married with five children.
Momodou is Diagnostic Connectivity Engineer with Zoetis. Prior, he worked as a Computer Engineer for Amalgamated Bank from 2007 to 2020. He also worked with Bronx District Attorney Office from 1999 to 2007. Momodou has also established a Real Estate business called Sawaneh Homes with Voro Real Estate Brokerage in New York since 2018, which he helps homeowners sell their homes and buyers find desire homes.
Momodou has an extensive and distinguished career in education. He holds Bachelor in Computer Information Systems from John Jay College in 2000 and Master’s Degrees in Computer Information Systems from Pace University in 2003. Momodou is also involved with Toastmasters International where he led many clubs achieved their goal and won many speech contest. He is a speech and live coach.
Momodou found passion in storytelling and had published his first fiction novel Dangerous Love in 2009 and has continues to work on publishing more books. In addition, Momodou is a community organizer who founded the Gambian Youth Organization (GYO) in 2002. He was the Director and organizer of African Day Parade from 2012 to 2015. Momodou is also the founder of the Gambian Alliance in NYC 2013. Momodou has also founded New Gambia Platform Civic Education and Global Issues Talk Show/Forum in 2018 where he discuss with his panelist issues affecting his community and world at large.
During his leisure time, Momodou loves to watch soccer, loves travelling, jogging and writing. He enjoys helping people, debates, speeches and political discussions. Momodou is people’s person who loves and care for the wellbeing of people especially the poor.

Gambian Youth Organization (GYO)
As a Community Organizer, Momodou is the founder and first president of a very dynamic youth group in the Bronx called the Gambian Youths Organization Inc. (GYO). Furthermore, in 2013, he created the Gambian Alliance with other organizations for strengthening relationships and unity among Gambians.
New Gambia Platform (NGP)
The New Gambia Platform is a civic education discussion forum & global affairs platform that has an online Live Talk Show, YouTube Channel and WhatsApp Groups where ideas, opinions and issues are discussed related to the Gambia and elsewhere. The platform talks about social, political and economic issues affecting our lives.
As the Founder and manager of NGP, Momodu Savanah envisions this civil education & global affairs platform to bring awareness to the people by identifying, analyzing and providing solutions to these issues.
The platform helps galvanize unity and sense of nation building where individuals would have opportunity to learn from one another, brainstorm on ideas and solutions toward national growth and development.
NGP educates, empowers and motivates people to do well for the wellbeing of the society and humanity as a whole. It encourages and facilitates contributions in areas of social infrastructural developments, good governance and progressive innovations across all boundaries and borders.

Momodou S. Sawaneh
As a Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM), Momodou demonstrated skills and knowledge in Public Speaking. He has over seven years of Toastmaster club by joining his first club 2009, Toast of the Bronx where he became the first president to achieve perfect ten in leadership and communication skills.
Momodou was later nominated as Area Governor of four clubs in Manhattan in 2012. Later in 2013, Momodou became the club coach to make Jade Club to be an outstanding club. He spires many toastmasters by winning speech contests at club, area and division level.
Momodou successfully completed his DTM in 2014, and he continues to inspire many within and outside toastmasters. Momodou is an inspirational and motivational speaker who does speeches at various institutions and organizations.
